Why should I pay you to sell my items?
In a word, experience! We have successfully sold thousands of items on eBay and our feedback is a testament to the fact that we offer superior customer service. Since we are PowerSellers with a strong feedback rating, eBay buyers trust us and are willing to pay top dollar for the items we list.

What if my item doesn’t sell?
You can drop by our office during normal business hours to pick up your unsold items. Any items not picked up within 30 days of the auction’s end will be donated to our favorite charity, St. Joseph’s Orphanage.

How does AMS keep track of my auctions?
An Excel spreadsheet is created for each customer and we use that to keep track of your items and to determine the financial outcome of your auctions. When your items are listed on eBay, we will email you a copy of your spreadsheet. This also allows you to watch your auctions, which is a whole lot of fun!

How do I get paid?
AMS will write you a check approximately 7 days after your auction ends. This allows us time to collect and process payment from the buyer. You can pick your check up at our office during normal business hours or we will mail it to you.

Do I need an appointment?
No. You can drop off your items at our office during normal business hours. If our regular hours are not convenient for you, we can schedule an alternative time.

Are there any upfront costs?

What fees are charged by eBay and PayPal?
We are charged three separate fees per item sold on eBay:

  1. eBay Listing Fee – charged per auction launched regardless of whether an item sells or not
  2. eBay Final Value Fee- eBay takes a percentage of the final selling price of every item
  3. PayPal payment processing fee – charged each time we receive a payment through PayPal

Do I have to pay these fees?
No. AMS charges a modest $2 fee per auction launched to help offset the listing fees charged by eBay. We pay all final value and payment processing fees, which means that on average, 8% of our commission is used to pay auction fees. (FYI - Most of our competitors deduct these fees from the final selling price of your item.)

Do you list anything and everything?
No. We research each and every item to determine its anticipated eBay value. If we find an item will probably not sell, or will sell for only a nominal amount, we will not list it. This decision is made with our customer’s best interest in mind as we do not want you to pay fees unnecessarily. Also, there are some items eBay prohibits us from listing.

Can I set a minimum price for my item?
Yes. If there is a minimum price you will accept for an item, please let us know. Otherwise, we will research the value of your item to determine the best starting bid.

What is a reserve?
A reserve price is a minimum you are willing to accept for an item and this amount is hidden from bidders. If the bidding reaches the reserve price, then you are obligated to sell your item to the highest bidder. eBay charges a fee for this service, which is 1% of the reserve price up to a maximum of $50. If you set a reserve, you are responsible for the 1% fee.
